Notes from the Isolation Ward, Day 3

Who are these wackos (Part 1)?

Did you hear the one about the guy who thinks the 5G network is the source of coronavirus?

I’m not making this up!  Dr. Thomas Cowan (a “holistic” doctor who, by the way, is on disciplinary probation) posted a video claiming that viruses are merely the waste from cells that have been poisoned. Are you surprised to learn he lives in California?

And what poisons those cells? you ask. Electromagnetic fields, specifically, the radiowaves from 5G networks.

Ah, come on, folks, get real!

Even more amazing: some people, including famous ones, are gullible enough a) to believe it and then b) to share it via the social medium of their choice. It would appear that just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you are a) smart, b) science-savy, c) a practitioner of critical thinking, or d) all of the above.

These are probably the same people who believe that vaccinations cause autism. Or the Earth is flat. Or that Ptolemy had it right.

From “Our Bull’s Loose in Town!”, the Spanish Influenza (part 2):

When he came back, his news was far from reassuring. “According to Dr. Donnelly, Mary is not exaggerating. There doesn’t seem to be any cure and it seems to hit healthy young folk the worst. No one knows what to do about it.”

“We’ve already lost too many young men in this war, we can’t afford to lose any more,” I said.

Stories about this new flu soon started appearing in the Regina Leader. The more we read about it, the more worried we became. Cities were coming to a standstill because so many people were ill. Houses were quarantined. People wore masks when they went out. They burned onions, or carried potatoes, or wore camphor bags around their necks. Even worse, doctors and nurses were ill and dying.  Nothing seemed to stop the plague.

To be continued . . .
